Our Service Department

Headlight Audio VisualMaintenance is a key component to keeping equipment running smoothly.

Our service team has a combined 65 years of service experience. The Service Department performs repairs and cleanings and conducts general and specialized maintenance on many brands of equipment.

Headlight is an authorized service center for:

  • 3M
  • Dukane
  • Eiki
  • Kodak
  • NEC
  • Sharp

Our staff of service technicians are well trained on a variety of equipment including projectors, screens, mixing boards, VCR and DVD players and recorders, microphones, amplifiers and much more for most of the major brands.

Whether or not we sold you your equipment, as long as it is a brand we service, we can help you.

Of course, if your equipment is still under warranty, you will need to contact the manufacturer to schedule repairs. The only exception to this is NEC and Eiki equipment. If you have either of these brands, we can do the warranty work on them.

Over the course of a year, we repair or refurbish 40-60 VCR and/or DVD players and recorders, 50-100 wireless microphone systems, more than 100 projectors, 300-500 overhead projectors, numerous mixing boards, amplifiers, tape recorders and switchers.

Many customers come to us for our refurbishing expertise, helping them to extend the life of their trusted equipment.

Getting Your Equipment to Us for Repair

You can drop off your equipment at our Service Shop at our main location (see Directions) during normal business hours (8-5, Monday through Friday).

For emergency repairs, you must call ahead before dropping off your equipment.

Shipping Equipment to Us

Before shipping your equipment to us, please call or email our Service Department.

When shipping packages to us:

  • Ensure adequate packaging to prevent damage in transit
  • Place insurance on the package for the value of the equipment
  • Ship your package to:

Freight Charges

You are responsible for all freight charges associated with your equipment. This includes freight charges to and from Headlight as well as any freight charges to and from the manufacturer's repair facilities. Freight charges will be applied to your invoice when we bill you or you pay with a credit card.

Requesting a Pickup

We can also pick up your equipment anywhere in Maine and southern New Hampshire. For other areas, please contact Vinny, as it may be cheaper for you to ship it.

We do charge for pickup and delivery, as well as labor onsite picking up or delivering your equipment.

A one-half hour labor charge will be applied to all pickups and deliveries. If time onsite is longer than one-half hour, you will be billed in 15-minute increments.

Our delivery labor rate is $65.00 per hour.

Repair Charges: Headlight Facilities

Repairs done in our shop (as opposed to onsite, see below), carry a one-half hour minimum labor charge, then billed in 15-minute increments.

Our in-shop labor rates are:

  • $75.00 per hour
  • One-half hour minimum
  • Billed in 15-minute increments thereafter

Onsite Repairs

We can come to your place of business to perform equipment repairs. Please note that, aside from a labor charge, travel to and from your business will be billed at $65.00 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments.

Our onsite labor rates (normal business hours):

  • $80.00 per hour
  • One hour minimum
  • Billed in 15-minute increments thereafter

Our onsite labor rates (outside normal business hours):

  • $120.00 per hour
  • One hour minimum
  • Billed in 30-minute increments thereafter

Work is considered outside normal business hours when it commences before 8am and after 5pm, Monday through Friday.

Warranty Information

If you have equipment that is still under warranty, and it is not an NEC or Eiki product, you must contact the manufacturer to schedule repairs.

If we have performed an installation job for you and the job is still under Headlight's warranty, please see our Support Page.

Equipment outside of warranty can be repaired and refurbished by our Service Department.

Preventive Maintenance Agreements

If you have a Preventive Maintenance (PM) agreement with Headlight, your labor, parts, pickup and delivery charges will be lower than what is stated on this page. Please refer to that agreement for your rates.
