What's happening at Headlight AV?

Quite a lot, actually!

We start the fall off with a new website. We've tried to work out all the bugs, but if you happen to find something that doesn't look right or work as it should please drop us a note.

This 'News' section will be used to communicate to you all the new products that have either come out in the last three months or are on the horizon. We'll also be creating articles we hope you will find beneficial.

If you have ideas for topics you'd like to see us cover, again, please email us.

Now, on to products....

Being in the AV industry, we at Headlight are constantly rolling with the changes. New products get showcased at various conventions and conferences we attend while some get dropped on our doorstep.

Some are just downright amazing while others are basically the same but with much needed improvements and add-ons.

And it's our job to bring you the latest of the greatest.

Take SMART Technologies' latest addition to their educational line-up: the 600i series interactive whiteboards.

This new addition to your classroom (and boardrooms as well) offers you the same dependable whiteboard you've come to trust from SMART, and it has an attached projector (1,500 lumens) so you don't have to invest in another company's projector.

No more projector sitting on a table or hanging from the ceiling. And no more wires running all over the place!

Another new product from SMART Technologies is the Senteo interactive response system.

The system is designed to bring the power of interactive teaching and learning to your fingertips -- and those of your students.

Create your questions (quiz, test, survey, etc.) and either display or speak them. The students then anonymously select the answers from their Senteo units. Immediately, all the students' responses are recorded and tallied then displayed on the screen or whiteboard.

If you find yourself in the vicinity of our main office (directions), stop on in. We have a 660i mounted in our conference room and we'd be more than happy to give you a grand tour of its features. We have the Senteo products available as well if you'd like to see these in action.

And in the area of projectors, NEC's products are constantly evolving with a host of new projectors.

NEC is now offering five new models: the NP40, 50 and 60 (2,200, 2,600 and 3,000 lumens, respectively), all very good portable units. There's the new NP4000 (5,000 lumens), great for rooms and halls where you need that extra luminance. And lastly the NP4001, NEC's wide screen projector (4,500 lumens at 1280 x 768 resolution).

All these new models are DLP projectors, with the NP4000 and 4001 designed to be installed.
